Data sources & licences

These are the five government or open-data sources that actually affect public UK Capital Intelligence output. Each row separates the source’s rights from the site’s matching and modification method. Storage elsewhere in the portfolio is never treated as publication permission.

Verified public sources

Commercial and derivative rights, stated plainly

Counts are exact for the current retained source package and carry their source or site date. “Yes” records verified permission, not ownership, endorsement or a guarantee that every upstream field is free of third-party rights.

What UK Capital Intelligence changes

The site selects only the fields needed for its public research task, matches company records on exact official identifiers, retains source and evidence dates, and labels geographic context separately from company facts. It does not publish Companies House addresses, officers or people with significant control. Contracts Finder notice values remain notice values—not recognised revenue. ONS indicators describe regions—not company performance.

Attribution and modification notices

Companies House is credited as the source of its public-register context. Contracts Finder and Charity Commission projections contain public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. ONS-derived pages use the attribution “Source: Office for National Statistics”. GLEIF records are identified as GLEIF data without implying that GLEIF supports or authorises this service.

Private and mixed-source evidence

Funding disclosures, investor relationships, the retained London People directory, CompanyBeacon projections and other research layers are not listed here as open datasets. Their presence in D1, R2 or a downloadable research file does not create an open reuse licence. They remain governed by their recorded sources, publication status, privacy exclusions and evidence thresholds; contractual details are not exposed.

Rights gate

No non-commercial or no-derivatives source is used in the current public outputs listed above. The build fails closed if a source marked for public output does not have both permissions verified. A future source with “No” rights must be withheld or replaced before any affected output can be indexed.
